Job Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 (HGV 1) vehicle on night tramper routes, completing deliveries in line with planned schedules.
• Ensure safe and compliant driving at all times, following tachograph and working time regulations.
• Carry out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, reporting defects or issues promptly.
• Secure loads correctly and ensure the vehicle is prepared for safe transit before departure.
• Maintain accurate delivery and collection records, including relevant paperwork and documentation.
• Communicate professionally with transport office and customers regarding route progress and any delays.
• Adhere to company safety procedures, site rules, and customer requirements.
• Represent the company in a courteous manner while on the road and at delivery locations.

Required Skills andamp; Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid UK digital tachograph card.
• Proven experience driving HGV 1 vehicles, ideally with night tramper or long-distance work.
• Strong knowledge of road safety, legal compliance, and tachograph/working time rules.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks to a high standard and report defects accurately.
• Good understanding of load security principles and safe handling practices.
• Excellent time management and route planning skills to meet delivery windows.
• Professional communication skills and a responsible approach to customer service.
• Comfort working independently during night shifts and maintaining focus for long-distance journeys
